One of my favorite aspects of\u00a0the entire\u00a0Wrestling with God: Stories of Doubt and Faith\u00a0<\/em>project, btw, is that the\u00a0cover was designed by a western Michigan woman, Michelle Lenger.<\/p>\n

There was much\u00a0emailing back and forth last summer with sketches and ideas and colors and what would show up best on a book shelf or on Amazon. I got\u00a0a lot of pleasure out of\u00a0imagining Michelle working away on this design within breathing distance of my dear\u00a0Lake Michigan, my home spot.<\/p>\n

Lake Michigan<\/a> is a character in the book — along with the Christian, Jewish, Muslim,<\/a> Hindu, Buddhist, Native American, atheist and Wiccan folks who told me their stories. You’ll see why when you read the book.<\/p>\n

I suspect that those of you who have ever spread a\u00a0beach towel out on the shores of\u00a0beautiful Lake Michigan (or on your own special beach somewhere else in the world) will\u00a0enjoy the story of the adolescent me sprawled out on the\u00a0sand, dreaming of God.<\/p>\n
