It’s true. My graceful dracena marginata is doing itself in. It’s hurling itself mercilessly against\u00a0our living room ceiling.\u00a0What’s a plant lover\u00a0to do? Seriously, green thumbs, I need your help.<\/p>\n

Tell me what to do here.<\/p>\n

Two\u00a0stalks of this old plant\u00a0are doing just fine. But the third seems intent on\u00a0crushing\u00a0itself against our sheet-rocked ceiling.\u00a0Don’t plants know better? Can’t\u00a0my hearty\u00a0dracena tell\u00a0that that’s an unmoveable object\u00a0it’s pushing against?<\/p>\n

Shall I just let it be? That seems heartless — you can see how contorted its leaves have become. That’s gotta hurt.\u00a0Or should I put\u00a0it\u00a0out of its misery — cut the suicidal branch off and toss it in the compost bin?<\/p>\n

Not an option.<\/p>\n

Maybe I could\u00a0cut that stalk\u00a0in two, put\u00a0the pieces in water, wait for them to\u00a0root — then stick them back into the\u00a0pot. What do you think? Will that work? Please advise.<\/p>\n
