Gotta share it with you. Take a look. Cheap thrills.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah. Yeah.\u00a0I&#8217;m definitely indulging in a bit of\u00a0smug irony here. The folks<!--more--> who created, appreciated &#8212; and paid for &#8212; these concoctions no doubt took them quite seriously as high decorative art in very good taste. But I&#8217;m a denizen of the twenty-first century, born in the less-is-more mid-twentieth century. So if I love these things, it&#8217;s precisely because they are so outrageously over-the-top &#8212; and in some cases, gorgeous.<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re seeing these pictures because\u00a0Jon and I took in the Glasmuseum at\u00a0Passau during\u00a0a river trip last month. More about that travel adventure up the Danube and down the Rhine in the days and weeks to come.<\/p>\n<p><em>More glass at <a href=\"http:\/\/barbarafalconernewhall.com\/2014\/09\/25\/dale-chihulys-glass-fine-art-kitsch-or-both\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Dale Chihuly&#8217;s Glass &#8211;Fine Art? But my German is only so-so these days and it was hard to decipher the labels.
