For readers who were as flummoxed as I was by Heather Donahue’s pot-growing argot<\/a> in\u00a0a recent\u00a0 post, here is some help:<\/p>\n

Theremin: Eery electronic musical instrument. Check out this cool video.<\/p>\n

Flopsweat<\/a>: Anxious sweat during a performance. This one’s a keeper.<\/p>\n

Larfy<\/a>: Very leafy; saftig, plump.<\/p>\n

Nutes: Plant nutrients, fertilizer.<\/p>\n

Spliff<\/a>: A joint.<\/p>\n

E<\/a>: I\u2019m guessing ecstacy.<\/p>\n

Asstard<\/a>: Ass + bastard. This is not a word I’ll get much use out of.<\/p>\n

Some of the new-to-me words in Heather’s memoir book\u00a0are\u00a0omitted here. They include a lot of very interesting expressions with fascinating\u00a0nordic and anglo-saxon\u00a0origins, but no use attracting a lot of porn spam to my site. I recommend reading the book for yourself. It’s\u00a0Growgirl: How my Life After<\/em> The Blair Witch Project Went to Pot<\/em>.<\/p>\n
