The Twin Cities Book Festival, sponsored by Rain Taxi Review of Books, was a blast. Lots of fun authors, including a California novelist who frequents one of my favorite San Francisco Bay Area coffee shops — Nellie’s in\u00a0Oakland. And lots of interesting publishers<\/a>, from Graywolf to Holy Cow! Press.<\/p>\n

I scoped out a couple of presses as possible publishers\u00a0for my next book, which might — might — have a Minnesota angle (stay tuned). They were Minnesota Historical Society Press and the University of Minnesota Press.<\/p>\n

As always at book events like Rain Taxi’s, there were folks with an acerbic sense of humor touting the atheist point of view.\u00a0August Berkshire of Minnesota Atheists shared this slogan:\u00a0“You say God can do anything. Have him say, ‘Hi.'” Reminds me of my favorite atheist — Anthony Mack — and the experiment he performs on God in my book, “Wrestling with God.”<\/p>\n

My WWG\u00a0book giveaway at the festival raised a nice wad of cash for my high school classmate’s Language Central adult language school. Big thanks to husband Jon for pitching my book to anyone who would listen.<\/p>\n

Rain Taxi Review of Books sponsors the annual Twin Cities Book Festival at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds as well as numerous literary events<\/a> throughout the year.<\/p>\n
