For my mid-century house on a hill, I tried to replicate the look of the 1950s tile that still exists elsewhere in our house. Thus, the six-inch square tiles in an offset pattern. It’s true. My new bathroom is . . . beautiful. I’ve been spending a lot of time in there lately, so I should know.<\/p>\n

The last doorknob, towel bar and water faucet finally got installed a couple of weeks ago, and I like the results. So much so that I find myself taking a shower at the drop of a hat, whether I need one or not.<\/p>\n

That’s partly because the new shower stall with its grab bars and grippy shower pan is so much safer than the slippery old tub-shower it replaced.<\/p>\n

But mostly it’s because it’s so darned pretty in there.<\/p>\n
