Are tears recyclable?
I found a tissue just now crumpled up on my bed next to my pillow. It’s from last night when I had big tears and needed a tissue.
The tears showed up when I spotted Jon’s handwriting on an old grocery list — Jon’s handwriting, Jon’s plans for dinner that night.
Jon had plans. He had plans.
Thus the tears. There was no stopping them.
Widowed: Are Tears Recyclable?
The tissue is recyclable. It can go into the recycling basket that we — I — keep in the bedroom. It can be recycled along with the empty vitamin bottles and the sticky notes. But how about my tears? Are tears recyclable?
I have things to do today. I haven’t time for this kind of deliberation. I drop the tears into the recycling bin along with the sticky notes, and wish them well.
